Overview
What it is
Allergic reactions range from annoying to dangerous, and the treatment differs completely between the two ends of that range. Hives, itching, and localized swelling from a food, medication, insect sting, or new product are uncomfortable but treatable in urgent care. Reactions that involve breathing, the throat, or the whole body are anaphylaxis — a 911 emergency, not an urgent care visit. Knowing which reaction you are having is the first question we help answer.
