The flu virus is spreading, more than 30 people have died already. The flu can hit anywhere between October and May, but this year it’s started early with several documented cases in December. The virus is expected to be strong throughout tell February.
Doctor David Alligood is physician at Express Family Care in Botetourt County and he’s seen a rapid increase in cases, “At Family Express Care we had six cases two weeks ago, last week we had 13 cases, and we are already at six to eight cases and we aren’t even halfway through the week.”
Doctor Alligood says the flu is very dangerously and should be taken seriously, “It’s not a disease that’s to be taken lightly.”
Be careful out in public and if you do have the flu stay away from the public for a week in order to protect the people at greater risk of catching the flu.
